This is where it all begins. Here are the materials you'll need to get started:

Step 1: Before the Lesson

Prior to the lesson, students come to an understanding of the difference between the terms data and evidence.

Student Task:  Draw two circles (see visual to the left with the labels).  Record a claim by labeling one circle “Data” and the other “Evidence” based on your understanding of those terms.  Next to each label, provide your reasoning for your label locations.
